December 5, 2007
Dear Helen,
Do yo see me getting out of financial trouble in the
new year, and do you see me changing employment in the New year. Thank
you and keep up the good work.
Wow, short, sweet and to the point. 2007 is still a
year you fought through. Some changes, but not anything wonderful.
However, ( let the bells ring and the crowds cheer!) I see 2008 being a
very challenging, but rewarding year for you. “ All good things comes
to those who wait” in your case it will be All good things come to
those who go after it! What ever you set your mind to and go after you
will achieve it. Strength and courage are your gifts to receive in the
new year my dear. Good luck and set your goals high!
Dear Helen,
I have been reading your column for years now and I
feel I just have to write to say how much I love your column. You show
remarkable insight, a genuine caring for people and a down home droll
sense of humour. I want you to know you are admired by many, and may I
say to those who don't, to heck with them!
I know you suffer from bouts of depression. So do I.
I do not have a bad life. I honestly cannot complain. Most things could
be better I suppose, but most things could be a heck of a lot worse. I
know this and understand this, yet I am still unhappy and at times
(dare I say) I have even have dark thoughts, of ending it all. Can you
tell me what is wrong with me? I am hoping because I feel we are of
kindred spirits, you will be able to connect to me on a soul level.
What do you do when you are having your “ dark times” Thank you so very
much for your kindness and caring to strangers. As I understand,
you are not paid nor have you ever been paid for your writing talents.
So, for all of your loyal fans ( moi included at the top of the list),
may I say, you should be commended for your unselfish,
endeavours over these past ten years for those of us who write to you.
Signed, A Most Devoted Fan.
Oh, you made me get a bit teary. Thank you so much
for your kind words. Yes, it has been 10 years now for my column, and
you are right. I do not get paid. I get an ad instead, so I do get some
stipend. I feel you are lacking something in your system. When is the
last time you had your thyroid checked? Also, are you in
menopause or pre-menopause?
There is something definitely lacking “in the
blood”. Your blood looks like coloured water in my cards. That's pretty
weak! Go and have a complete check-up. Have your Doctor run every blood
test that he can possibly think of and then some. If you get on top of
this and get your blood nice and thick and rich again. You will start
seeing more sunshine in your life, and less dark days. As for me and my
dark times. I take St. John's Wort., three times a day faithfully!
